INTERCEPTOR Guards, cameras, and chase
The facility’s real raid bosses are cones and two people on a gate.
Security in INTERCEPTOR is a cast. Cameras are actors. East-gate guards are a pair with a script. Roamers eat donuts. Chase AI is the Update 12 rewrite of “they saw you, so the chapter is garbage.” This page is their dossier. Laptop humans stay on NPCs. Parent hub: players.
Cameras
Treat every remaining camera as a staff member who never blinks. Intercept them, maybe rotate them, do not assume intercept equals blindness. A feed you remember from a YouTuber may be gone; comments on the full guide already flag a missing cam. Live cones beat memory.
The Update 1 detection icon for “they spotted you hiding” applies to cameras and NPCs. A desk is not a cheat code. Undetected fails here more than on open floor sprints.
East entrance pair
Two guards, one joke. They will not wander because you are charming. Play the commander snore on the intercom. That is the intended social hack, ranked S on hacking tools. Walking up is a witness. Fighting is a misunderstanding of the genre.
Roamers
Hallway staff on loops. Donuts exist for them. Specialist shutters exist to delete the line they look down. If you use control-center disable on a single roamer during High Security, you spent the budget wrong — High Security.
Chase AI
Until 30 July 2024, a spot could feel like a full brick. Update 12 added chase to Chapter 1 so a guard who just watched you lock someone up would not instantly play omniscient alarm god. It is kinder. It is still a fail for canonical. It is practice for chapters that were supposed to follow. The extras tab also has Chase System Test if you want the AI without the puzzle.
Do not build a route that plans to get chased. D-tier thinking.
High Security behavior
Same cast, less freeze. They do not gain new names. You lose the ability to turn the whole department off. Play them as if jam is scarce, because it is.
Multiplayer note
Chase got a compatibility tweak when INTERSWEEPER multiplayer launched. That does not mean Chapter 1 is a co-op stealth raid. Friends belong on the INTERSWEEPER grid, not as extra bodies you expect to tank cones.
When you die, name the actor: cam, pair, roamer, chase. Then pick the tool that beats that actor. That is the whole security-forces skill. For binds, controls. For the human who designed the cones, creator.
Cameras deserve a second paragraph because players treat them as props. They are staff. An intercept that you never close is you standing in an office with your eyes in another room. A rotate that you forget to undo can help a later retry or ruin a friend’s recording; this demo is mostly solo, so undo is for you. If a cam vanished between patches, celebrate the missing cone and do not search the ceiling for five minutes.
East-pair timing is audio as much as vision. Headphones on mobile were recommended in controls for a reason. If you play muted, you will walk into the pair while the snore is still queuing. That death looks like a “broken gate” in chat and is just a missed cue.
Chase is the department’s last actor. It is not a new elite guard model. It is the same people deciding to run. Break line of sight, hide, or restart. Do not invent a shotgun bind. INTERCEPTOR will not grow one because you asked in 2026 comments.
Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers for stealth, hacking, and the 2026 hiatus.
How do I get past the east entrance guards?
Play CommanderSnoringNoise1.mp3 on the intercom. Do not brawl them.
Do cameras still see me after I intercept them?
Often yes. Intercept is vision for you, not always blindness for them.
What is the chase system?
An Update 12 Chapter 1 change so a spot can start a chase instead of a cheap full fail. Canonical still restarts.
Can friends distract guards with me?
Chapter 1 is a solo puzzle. Use INTERSWEEPER if you want a shared extra.
